Question on making backups for PS2 slim.

hi ppl. juz got myself a PS2 slim (modded with matrix infinity) and i've a PIII system that contains only 1 DVDwriter (can burn +r/-r etc)and no DVD-rom drive. How should i backup my games? Also, i've some question, pls enlighten.

1)Can i juz use nero alone to create iso and burn the games since i've a modchip? Do i still need DVD-decrypter and isobuster?
2)Wat would be the best method to burn games for my system since i don't have 2 dvd drives to "burn-on-the-fly"?
3) Is it recommended to burn games to DVD+rw? Will my PS2 be able to read them?
4) Is DVD+R or DVD-R more preferred for PS2 slim?

A: Just download DVD Decrypter...That's all you need!

A: When you burn with DVD Decrypter it writes the game to your computer...Then you burn it to a DVDR!

3) Is it recommended to burn games to DVD+rw? Will my PS2 be able to read them?

A: PS2 Slim will read DVD-R or +R so it doesn't matter...

4) Is DVD+R or DVD-R more
preferred for PS2 slim?

A:It doesn't really matter...What ever burns the slowest! But I use -R...Thats what I prefer the best

DO NOT USE RW.
The ps2 will not ne able to read it.
Slim ps2 runs +r media very well.
(the advantage is changing the booktype to dvd-rom)
Use good media.
I use Verbatim(mcc) or fujifilm (yuden)
Burn at 2x speed.

Some newer games have to be re-built with isobuster yes.
Dvd decrypter works Great with or without isobuster.
99% of all ps2 games wont require anything other than DVD decrypter.

My DVD Burner on burns at 4x and all my games I've burnt turned out good!

When you get deep into games and the sound flickers or the cutscenes are choppy.

Now you know why.
Burn GTA:SA at 4x.
Deep into the game you will notice issues,
The games will play but not perfect.

Jizmak, u mention DVD+R has advantage of making booktype to DVD-ROM. Where and how do i do that?

if your using DVD Decrypter or Nero.
They are settings that you can change.
Decrypter does it automatitcally.
Nero you have to change it manually.
Not all dvd burners support this
feature though i have been told.
