Hi. I'm new here but I actually managed to resolve quite a lot of issues by searching these forums in the past. I hope someone could help me with this.
I managed to ... acquire a copy of the xenosaga kalisto iso (which is downsampled to fit on a regular dvd-r and with a ntsc-pal loader) and I also have a spch-3001 us ps2 along with a slide card and swap magic 3.3
Now this is really odd. I used DVD decryptor to burn the iso to a dvd (I use ritek dvd-r g05) at 2x. It worked fine until I get to a part a few hours into the game (the fifth jerusalem subcounsil tower or somesuch) where everytime the room starts to load, it freezes halfway loaded. So I figured it just might be a bad burn somehow and that a sector with the files needed had an error or something. So having kept the iso, I try to burn it again using the exact same settings and the exact same media in the exact same software. I really haven't changed anything. However, my new backup didn't work. I tried again just in case and it didn't work either. I even tried alcohol to no avail.
I really have no clue what is happening here so any help would be great. I would however like to mention that my burner is a NEC 3500AG like so many other people and that my original backup still loads up in the ps2 so it doesn't seem to be related with that.
Any help ideas you might have related to this would be great. Thanks.
EDIT : I thought I should add that the non-working dvds can be read within windows and seem identical to the original iso mounted in daemon tools.
