First of all, I am against piracy! I'm not sure how true it is, but I read a whole forum about how blockbuster has trace chips in their dvds, and if you back one up there will be a message sent to the company whenever you connect to the internet. I have purchased previuosly viewed movies from blockbuster and made back-up copies using dvd shrink and nero, but I owned them so it wasn't illigal. But, if this trace chip thing is true, how would blockbuster know whether I puchased the dvd or just rented it? Does anyone know of a person being a victim of this so called "trace chip"?

What I heard if you paint your walls with a heavy coat of lead paint (maybe two) their is no way for the radiation beams to penitrate your walls. You can also coat your anteneas on your tv with aluminum foil. Make sure you watch the movie on a TV with anteneas. Try these first tell us how it is going after this. ---zen-->

not another trace chip thread...I'm just going to spoil this one from the beginning....there's NO SUCH THING as trace chips. It was a joke for a long time...but its getting old. Sorry to end the fun, its just that enough is enough.

For the best quality mp3s use EAC (exact audio copy) to rip your audio CDs and LAME to encode them. Follow this guide:

Thanks for replying. Sorry. I didn't know it was a joke. Lead paint, haha, very funny! Just out of curiosity, if their's no chip, how do pirates get caught? Personally, I don't think its worth the risk.

A pirate gets caught when he tries to sell the DVD's and people find out that it is not an original DVD-9 from the Movie Co.
