Editing DVD Made From Camcorder...Help Please!

Desperate for help...school project due tomorrow. We took the camcorder, hooked it up to the ilo recorder, and recorded the tape she shot. The dvd plays in my computer, but not hers. I downloaded some editing software on mine, but the files on the dvd are: IFO, VOB, and BUP. Can someone please help with what is the best editing software (will only be used once)? How to convert files to other format? Or is there someother way to go about this all together that is easier? She has waited until the last minute, of course, and I am not familiar with doing any of this. Thank you for any and all help.
