Slimline PSTwo with Matrix Infinity 1.36(?) dead!

Well I had some trustworthy chipper mod my slimline PS2 with the Matrix Infinity 1.36(i think it was that edition) chip.

Anyway he did a great job and I was playing it happily for a week or two. However I returned home the other day to sit down for some games and the PSTwo now seems dead. When I plug it in, the standby light comes on. I press the button to power it up and the green light comes on, and the TV screen goes black. Nothing then happens, and the only way to turn the PS2 off is to yank the power lead from the back (Like the console has locked up)

Pressing the analog button on the controller makes the red light on the controller come on.

Is there a simple thing that's gone wrong or will the modder need to check it out?
