Can I backup HDAdvanced to a DVD or intal it to my memory card?

I have HDAdvanced and have found my 15 month old with it on several ocasions. Can I make a backup? I have heard that it uses a special stamped DVD so it won't work. Is this true? I have also heard that I can instal HD loader on a memory card. I don't have a mod chip or anything else just the HDAdvanced. Help before it is to late.
