if i burn my ps2 backups at 4x will i encounter errors on the games whilst playing using my messiah v2 chip. it sames a long time to wait using 1x.

1X is your safest bet. 4X I think, is fine. Usally that works. I suggest 1X unless you just can't wait. If you experience problems at 4X then go to 1X.

I use 8x usually... it seems like my ps2 prefers it that way too..don't get any glitches etc now.

when you set the program to 1X it may actually burn at a different speed anyway, set it to the lowest speed and see what the actual write speed is. If it works than don't worry about it.
Mine always burns at 3.8X and i have had no problems.
Also ALWAYS use quality media, not that cheap crap just to save a few dollars or you'll end up with glitchy games. bad media = bad back ups
