I have had an Autokey3 (I think...the one where you hold in the power button and release at the right time...tray ejects for you and so on...) mod chip with a Gameshark v2 swap disk in my PS2 for a while now and have had no trouble with some CD based games I have.

I recently got a DVD burner and have tried to backup some of my DVD games. The first one I tried was Fight Night 2 (which most people say has been no trouble). I tried about 7 different ways (Nero, DVD Decrypter, rebuild ISO's, DNAS patch or no, burn speed) and had no luck. I then tried several other games (Tekken 5, Tiger Woods 2005, God of War...) with no trouble at all. I even noticed, in burning the others, that media /burn speed had no effect for me. That is, i burned at the fastest speed and used different media (Memorex/Sony) even while using my computer during the burn, all with success.

Ok, so what i have noticed is that i can't even get FN2 to boot with my mod/gameshark method using the original FN2 disk (leavng the orig in when i should swap). I have since noticed this with MX vs. ATV and Timesplitters Future Perfect as well...I believe my ps2 is v4 or v5 and have seen that there are some games that just don't boot with my setup? Anyone have any similar experiences? Any suggestions to try?

Thanks.
