I opened my ps2 to clean it as some games weren't working. I followed a guideline i found on the net. Everything went well...i got rid of plenty of dust but when i put my ps2 back together again i saw that the blue light for opening the tray wasn't working...but everything else was...the console would turn on fine but foolishly i re-opened the ps2 to try fix the light...i saw that the cable going from the DVD drive to the reset and open disc buttons was bent and twisted and torn in places...if i held it in a certain position the blue light would work...i tried to fix it for ages but i got fed up and put it back together again expecting everything to work except the blue light but now nothing works...i switch it on at the back..the red light omes on...i press the red light button but the console stays in stand by mode i.e. there is no green light. I fear i may have wrecked the cable with my tampering...my basic question is can i buy a new cable on the web or is the cable even the problem? Have i blown some fuses in the ps2? Sorry for the long message but i wanted to give you guys every bit of info.Thanks!
