Multiple Avi/Mpeg to DVD - How??

Is there a quick an easy way to convert all my small and reatively large Avi/Mpeg films to a vob/dvd file so i could burn it to a dvd-r that i can then watch it on my xbox? maybe Winavi?? i dont know. all i want to do is select the multiple files i want to convert to avi and let it get on with it.

can some one help me please.
