I am trying to copy movies that I have rented. I keep getting an error about it being protected. I am using DVD-R and Sony Record Now software. What am I missing? You can copy movies correct?

You can copy movies you already own! Not rented movies! That is illegal.

To backup movies you already own you need a program to remove the encryption.
DVD Decrypter, AnyDVD, DVD43 ect..

Check out the guide at my website and follow it to the "T" and you should be good to go. The link is in my signature :-)
