Is my ADVC-100 Broken?

Hello everyone! I have had an ADVC-100 for a few years now, and its always worked properly until an incident that occured a few hours before posting this message. I was in the process of moving, and I had to move my computer into the next room. After I moved everything, I plugged the ADVC-100 back in to my computer with the firewire. However, I noticed something strange. The firewire was plugged appropriately into my ADVC-100, but somehow the other end of the cord fit into my firewire port upside down. It was a 6-pin to 6-pin cord, and it fit with such ease that I didn't notice the diffence. I turned my ADVC off, and corrected the error, but when I turned the ADVC back on, it acted strangely. The three lights light up... and stay up. Its like 'dead', and I can't seem to wake it up. Does anyone know anything about this? Anything that might fix it?
