A friend gave me a DVD with a home movie on it. It is one ISO file and I can't figure out how to burn it to watch on a stand-alone player. I tried with DVD decryptor but it always gives me an error. The disk plays on the computer fine. Any help is greatly appreciated.
If it is a dvd-compliant image file, you can use Daemon Tools to create a virtual drive and mount the image onto the drive. This tool is useful to view ISOs (or any image). Try this first to see if it really is a image file of the dvd. When you have mounted it, use your desired dvd player on your computer to view it.

When you finally decide to burn the image to a blank dvd...There are compatibility issues to be considered. The brand name of the blanks are a huge factor of playback ability on your standalone. If you are using a cheap brand, such as Memorex (or ones "Made in Taiwan"). A lot of users have made a lot of "coasters" (unusable blank discs) while using Memorex. Some brand names to consider: Verbatim, Fuji, Sony, etc. Also, you may come across different formats, such as DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD-RW, DVD+RW... I suggest using dvd-r since it is most compatible with standalones. DVD+Rs come in second...But you may have an older (or newer) standalone that can play all formats.
