I have searched for a solution for an hour now and have decided to give up.
I want to install a .ELF file on my memory card THROUGH the
infinity manager software but I don't have a clue on how to
burn this (bootable) CD
SO after "googling" i found "Infinity_Upgrade1.3_with_HDloader_by_Albertino.rar"
on this site
http://srlz.altervista.org/software/software.html
I burned it and installed it and it works. The infinity manager
was already installed so I fired up the PS2
Memory manager - Install Application
And it installed fine. (HDLOADER runs from memcard)
NOW I HAVE the new version of HDAdvance in .elf format, and I
Desperately want to know how to make that albertino infinity manager
bootdisk so that i can install this .elf
Any help would be welcome.
Greetings

I don't like to give up so easily so I tried
the following
I downloaded
HDLoader INFINITY from Manager Edition NEW !!!
(File = HDLOADER_V9_INFINITY_FROM_MANAGER_PATCHED_by_Albertino.rar)
from the site I mentioned.
I got a cue/bin file I mounted it with demon-tools
and just copied the files to a direcotry
I noticed that among these files there was a file named
HDLOADER.ELF so what i did
I deleted that file and renamed my HDA.ELF to HDLOADER.ELF
(they have the same architecture, that was my logical reason to do this)
fired up the ps2 with the CD and it booted the infinity manager v1.01b
I choose Memory Manager -> Install Software and it Installed
Succesfully.
Now I Went to the list of installed software and the name was
"HDLOADER BY ALBERTINO" when I chose it I got the HDAdvance menu
Mission accoplished.
(is there another way. ?? and hod did albertino get his name in there?)
Greetings

You don't need to modify existing ISO's, you can make the installing CD by yourself from the beginning. I've made a little tutorial about this in finnish Afterdawn so I'll try to explain it shortly in english:
Just open notepad and copy following lines into it:
Quote: YOURFILENAME
mc0:BOOT/YOURFILE.ELF
MD mc0:BOOT
CP cdrom0:\YOURFILE.ELF;1 mc0:BOOT/YOURFILE.ELF
1st line is the name what is shown in Infinity Manager, you can change it to whatever you want. On other lines change YOURFILE.ELF to the filename you are going to install. Just remember that you must press enter after the last line, otherwise the script won't work!
Save this as INSTALL.CNF, burn it together with your .ELF file with Nero as data-CD, no multisession, Mode2/XA, ISO9660 only filemode, 8+3 filenames, ISO9660 charset, all loose ISO restrictions (or whatever they are called in english version of Nero) tabs unchecked. Then install it with Infinity Manager.
---
There is also possibility to make your file "default boot application", which can be started straight by pressing R1 when booting the console. With this method you must rename your .ELF to BOOT.ELF and make INSTALL.CNF like this:
Quote: YOURFILENAME
mc0:BOOT/BOOT.ELF
MD mc0:BOOT
CP cdrom0:\BOOT.ELF;1 mc0:BOOT/BOOT.ELF
...and don't forget that enter!
There have been slight changes in Infinity's firmwares, so these instructions might not work with older firmwares. I've tested it with 1.39.

Hi,
I've installed Infinity Manager 1.36 successfully onto my PS2, which already has v1.39 of the Infinity on it. I then go into Infinity Manager ok, but when I press the Install Applications option, it hits the CD for a couple of seconds then returns with Error on Installation.
On the CD I have two files, the INSTALL.CFG and the HDLFPP.ELF file, which is an up-to-date verison of HDLLoader.
Can you advise where I might be going wrong.
Thanks

Does anyone know how to re-skin HDLOADER_V9_INFINITY_FROM_MANAGER_PATCHED_by_Albertino's version of Hdloader? I have this version on the mcard and actually don't like the skin. Can someone give me a step by step guide to doing it taking into account that I am a noob. Thanks in advance.

It gives me install error.I have the latest Infinity Firmware 1.40 beta. Also this Albertino version that I am using. Is it the latest version of Hdloader? I mean everything is working but I am wondering if I need to update it. If it is not then how do I update it taking into consideration that it also needs to work from the Infinity manager via the memory card.
HDADVANCE 2.1
mc0:BOOT/HDADVANC.ELF
MD mc0:BOOT
CP cdrom0:\HDADVANC.ELF;1 mc0:BOOT/HDADVANC.ELF
For your info above- this is what is in the install.cfg file that I created. I got the latest version of HDAdvance in memory card format but will it work properly with Matrix infinity manager and modchip?

Romero I'm detecting Inconsistency
in the / and \ you are using in your cfg's
please be consitent because I;m not getting them to work
I had to hack Albetrino's HDD loader
Found here
http://srlz.altervista.org/software/software.html
I replced the .ELF file with my HDD.ELF but they must be the SAME name
The .ELF file in the Albetrino save was named HDLOADER.ELF and mine was HDA.ELF so I just renamed mine to HDLOADER.ELF
The file I used from the site was.
HDLoader INFINITY from Manager Edition NEW !!!
works like a charm

Hey guys, I just upgraded from firmware 1.35 to 1.45 now when I boot up the HDD in the browser screen, also the game doesn't boot up automatically. I have to select it. Anyone else experience this???

Go to the setup and check boot mode setting: It should be on Auto. 1.45 has brand new setup menu with new options, and when I installed this update it wiped out old settings so I had to change them back.

If I want to,can I downgrade back to 1.35 or 1.39. I'll wait to hear back from the Matrix team, but I want to know if that is an option.

Romero, It didnt work. Did exactly what you did and it didn't work for some reason. Still comes up install error. 2 cdroms in the trash mate. So I don't know.
Juice 25- Is your HDD the official Sony one? Because if it is not and your PS2 is PAL then it will not show on the sony browser. Also enable Atad in the config menu this should make it show in the Sony browser. Furthermore only NTSC PS2's will make the HDD show up regardless of the HDD being a official/non-offical one in the Sony browser. But you have to install with the Sony HDD utilites Disc that was only released NTSC and not PAL.
