I have a question, what is the best program for encoding avi to mpg or possibly Avi to VOB. I've tried TMPGEnc. and its a decent program but its really really slow, is there any other programs that are better than TMPGEnc or does anyone have an idea what is the best program out there.

Sorry, I'm too faithful to TMPGenc and I never tried others. Other names you can try: Cucusoft encoder, Xilisoft mpeg converter. But, alas, too few guides on that stuff..
