Hello all.

I just got my first dvd burner, a sony DRU720a. I am using DVD- Decryptor along with NeroXpress cd/dvd software that came with my burner. I am "backing-up" dvds. It takes me to decrypt and burn a dvd in about 30-35 minutes using 8x Song/Fuji DVD-R media.

I am wondering if there is a more simple way to burn dvds. I just got done using 120% Alcohol and that worked a bit faster, but I used 1 dvd that was small enough, 3.9Gs, to fit on a dvd. I know when I burnt a large file, like a Seinfeld DVD that had a few episodes on it, the Nero software that I was using showed that I would lose video quality if I want to use all the extras, subtiles, menus, sound options..etc. I am wondering if there is a way to copy a dvd exactly the way it is, with menus and extra and all the goods without losing video quality? Is there such a thing/program that would allow me to copy a dvd as it is, without having to succumb to using really ugly templates in order to fit a movie, or episodes of a dvd, to a dvd.

Also, will losing a certain percentage, like 20%, of video quality really be noticed or matter?

All helpful advice and suggestions will be much appreciated.

Welcome to the forum. You can copy the DVD original onto 2 DVD-5's or onto a DVD-9 if your burner can do DVD-9 backups.
You will need to split the DVD original episodes for the Seinfield but that is easily done in Nero or Shrink.

To write to a D/L disk use DVDDecrypter> iso read> iso write

20% compression does not really bother me as I have only a 40" Widescreen TV. I do not know about the TV's bigger than that but you might want to look at DVDRebuilder and CCE. That program comes the closest to making an exact copy of the DVD-9 when put on DVD-5's
