can anyone plz tell me how to tell what type of ps2 i have.i.e.(V7, V8.)

check the serial number is the easiest way, there's places all over the net that can tell you your version ps2 by serial number u can check the bottom of the case also, v1-v3 i believe has 10 screws and v4-7 have 6
