I have a whole bunch of jpg files that I've converted into a series of avi files. These are slideshows where each picture is displayed for 5 seconds. There are no transitions. I want to make a m2v file out of each avi file, using TmpgEnc, then burn a dvd where each m2v file becomes a menu item. This is for playback on a standard TV.
Tmpg Dvd Author is used to author the DVD.

Since I may add music to each file, I was wondering what would be the minimum bitrate that I could get away with. Since I have no transitions, there is no motion which makes me think I'mnot gaining anything by uing a higher bitrate. Also with the number of photos plus uncompressed audio (for compatability reasons), I want to save as much space as possible as long as the quality is watchable.

At this point I'm not sure how many photos I'll have or whether I'll be adding audio at all.
thanks.
