do i need some sort of fix it gets blue boarder then just goes balck and does nothing burt at 2x and 4x speed as can't seem to get a 1x used a verbatain -r, data safe -r, bulkpak -r disks all done same used nero, alcohol, dvd decrypter to burn the iso

No special procedure at all...if i were you ill use memorex dvd-r and use Nero burn at 2x....i have a copy of gta SA in a memorex dvd-r and made copy with Nero amd mines works fine...hope this helps

got it to work by burning to a bulkpak -r disk with Alcohol 120% and adjusted the white cog on ps2.

What do you mean by adjusting white cog? Where is this and what does it do?

Could this be the problem with my ps2? ( see "HELP PS2 just freezes" thread)

depends what versiom ps2 it moves the lasor either closer or further from the disk in this case i had to move it closer to the disk
