After making a video in After Effects and Premier and exporting the final movie as avi(DVavi) i then take the files to mainconcept encoder to encode to dvd format(variable rate min7000 ave7500 max8000. then taking the resulting (audio/video) files to pinnacle impression 2.2 to author along with whatever menus i have done i get a nice perfect dvd burnt at 2x on ritek media apart from when it comes to fades to black! or anything involving black video. then all my dvd players scan past the black bits and continue once they get a picture again. No dvd players i've tried will play any bit of the movie with black video in it which is annoying if you start with a fade from black. it just skips in a bit and continues from there a bit out of sink? if i change the black to grey there is no problem.
ive tried the same thing encoding from tmpeg encoder with no menus following your guides and got same results. is it possible that its due to the min variable enc rate being high and skipping as there is little/no information on screen?
Please help, ill try any software and encoder. i just want to be able to play pure black video with music over it and currently have to add noise to the borders (outside the frame safe areas) to avoid this problem.
i've searched for hours but could not find anyone one the entire web let alone afterdawn with this problem. I am very computer literate and just cant understand why this is happening to me i have a p4 1.4 512MB ram, win xp, and use only adobe premier for final output and mainconcept encoder/ procoder / tmpeg / sorenson encoder to encode my (DV) avi to whatever formats the authoring programs need.
