HDD games freezes so often please help

hi.. i am new to playing HDD games on the ps2... my question is that how come everytime i play most of my games from the HDD it freezes a lot.. games such as Marvel vs. Capcom 2 (no mode) Dragon ball z saga (no mode) im currently using HD loader, have a matrix infinity chip, and also a Official Sony HDD... does anyone know whats causing this?
