my burner is a PHILIPS DVDRW416N and only burns +R :-(
I bought 75 bulkpaq White top 4X DVD+R but realise they were incompatable (Expensive mistake)
basically i wanna buy some DVD+R but knowing that they are compatable and guaranteed to work as i cant afford to make the same mistake again.
Cheers

What is the media ID on your bulkpaq's? You can use this proggy to find out and let us know. http://dvd.identifier.cdfreaks.com/
The best +r media I would recommend is Verbatum Datalifeplus, Taiyo Yuden, Maxell, and fuji, in that order. Some would put TY first.
Even though you use the highest quality +r media, this doesn't necessarily mean that it will be compatable with your set top player, although it will improve the chances.
Your best alternative would be to booktype your +r media to dvd-rom, which I think phillips burners are capable of doing. I would first try a small quantity of the media listed above as bitsetting may not be required with high quality media.

I have just finished a 25pack of the Datawrite yellow MCC +R 8x and found no problems at all with them. They where burned in both a Samsung SH-W08A and a Philips DVDRW 885 & work in fine my Philips set top dvd player too.
Dont slip or youll break it!

MCC 003 work great..i have quite a few of these verbs 8x left and they are flawless. these are the closest thing i could use to compare with my TY's. :) i prefer TYs, but, in my OWN opinion, these are a very close 2nd. good luck PM5K, they should be great for you too.

always be weary of EBAY media my friend, whether it be US or UK...you don't have the satisfaction of knowing whether they are genuine or not and most sellers have a NO RETURN ALL SALES FINAL policy~ be careful...and good luck

im very glad they worked out for you. i have only a few hundred of the Verbatim MCC003 8x dvd+r left, i would get some more, but, i am anticipating the arrival of some so called OEM Taiyo Yudens to try out and test. i change the booktype on ALL my dvd+r's to dvd-rom, i have found this makes them 10 fold more compatible w/ my picky stand alones that do not prefer +r media.
anyways, glad you have found a solid solution to your difficulties, burn on...
