What all do i need to mod my xbox i was going to get spider but i'm not so sure any more. Do i need to buy a HD or a new mother board and what is bios. sorry for the incoviencence.

1.I would suggest an xecuter chip, spider is kinda basic.
2.You dont need a new HDD but its better to have one to store games/videos etc etc
3.A BIOS is software that you flash onto your mod chip. If you want to play copied games you need a hacked BIOS such as evolution x BIOS or xecuter BIOS. These are illegal because they contain microsoft code. There is a LEGAL BIOS called cromwell that allows you to use linux on your xbox but it cannot boot games.

Ok but how much does all of this cost i was under the assumpion it was only the cost of the chip till i heard about the harddrives.

you dont NEED a HDD and yes the xecuter 2.6CE does work. How much it costs depends on if you want a new HDD or not and how much space the HDD can take, I suggest you get a 250GB my 120GB got full quite fast.

I won't hark on xecuter since I haven't tried them, but the xenium Ice chip was easy like sunday morning. First determine what version box you have. After you get that figured out retrieve a working HACHED Bios from the "usual places". Afrer that, swap HDD. After that, Back up your HDD via FTP. Now install EvolutionX (which you need to download from the usual places) by formatting your new drive.

You can FTP your saves from the UDATA and the TDATA found in your hard drive over to your PC, Just do the data swap before you convert to a larger HD.
