The best out there for the v12 are the DMS4 PRO, Crystal chip, and Matrix Infinity. Make sure you get the extra peice (diode fix, resister fix, etc. etc.) with your modchip to prevent laser damage.
How about the DMS4 lite? Have you tried this before? I read so many problems after they installed some modchips! I want to get the best modchip available without problems! Or all modchips for V12 has problem?
No, many recent installs into the v12 ps2's have been working 100%. I know that a guy named Steimy in this forum http://minnwild.8.forumer.com/index.php has a v12 chipped system with the DMS4 Pro mod chip and has had no problems at all yet. And also, the DMS4 Lite will work fine in your v12...
i had a ps2 and i bought the infinity matrix mod chip..how do i know if it is the real chip? i havent put it in my ps2 yet i want to buy the new slim ps2. will it work in the slim ps2? the chip says Actel plus, proAsic APA075-F, TQ100 0443...if it will work do i need anything else? such as software or patches?
The majority uses magic kx+ because it has a very low crash rate, ive never had one crash to date, nor has anyone that ive modded. The DMS4 Lite did have some crashes. The DMS4 Pro/Crystal Chip also do crash.
The Matrix infinity I have not used since their old firmware where it would cause the crashes very often. I never gave them a second chance.
Yes, the Matrix Infinity will work in your slim ps2, and it is considered one of the top three mod chips for the ps2, along with the DMS4 series and Crystal chip. The new Infinity Firmware V1.4BETA is very nice, and you can get it here, http://infinitymod.com/cgi-bin/matrix/site.pl?page=news If you are worried about a fake, go here to check and see, http://www.infinitymod.com/fakemxl2.htm
Also, like spyman said, you will need the summ0ne fix to prevent laser damage, it is just an extra piece to solder in your Ps2.
