I have heard of them, but never actually installed one before. I am sure they would work, do they have a main website?

Well, I know the MODBO chips are really cheap, but they look fine to me!! Is there a special boot method you need to do in order to play your ps1/ps2 games for this chip, or does it just run your games automatically?

The modbo is just a clone of the matrix infinity. When it boots your game it will say matrix infinity on the bottom of the playstation 2 logo. I have one and it works perfect on my slim pstwo. When i sent my pstwo to get modded my version of the modbo/matrix infinity was v.1.38 when my friend sent his to get modded his was v.1.39 they both do the same thing except his can load the games from the browser screen and you can use the cheats with armax or gameshark and mine doesn't do that. But the games load fine with no swap or anything. People say this modchip is bad but i don't think so if it's a clone of the matrix infinity than that's exactly what it is, a clone it does everything a normal matrix infinity v.1.38/.39 chip woud do just make sure you get the laser fix.

My experience with modbo was bad, but thats because i didnt know i had one. If you go into the options menu of the modbo and change a setting and save it. It basically renders ur PStwo(dunno about others) useless, i couldnt load DVD Movies, DVD-r or +r or cd based games. And every once in a while itd stop working and id have to unplug my PStwo from the wall and leave it for about 10-15 minutes and then plug it back in to work. But :-D it ended up being a bad chip and the second one i got is fine :-p no probs at all. But you cant change settings thou, but you dont need to anyway.

What if accidentally changed the settings? Will it damage my PsTwo or just the chips?

Just the chip, ur PStwo will be fine. But you wont do it accidental, because that would be like accidentally holding down ▲ + ● then going into the menu, scrolling down to bottom and clicking on save. :-p
