Help FTP'ing into PS2

Hey guys, having a little problem here. I'm following DV8's exploit tutorial ( http://www.ps2hd.com/forums/faq.php...#faq_exploit006 ) and can't FTP into the PS2.

I've copied the FTP apps to my PS2 HDD via HDA and I can boot that fine. I have the FTP server running, with the IP address set as:

IP 192.168.0.77
subnet 255.255.255.0
gateway 192.168.0.1

My desktop is using DHCP (with my router as the server) and has an address of
IP 192.168.0.101
subnet 255.255.255.0
gateway 192.168.0.1

I am using EliteFTP (and have also tried FlashFXP as mentioned in the tut) but cannot connect to the PS2. The FTP client tries and disonnects, then starts over again. I also cannot ping the PS2.

I have the desktop and the PS2 connected through my router's built in switch, and have link lites for both.

Could the DHCP be the problem? I've set the PC to a static address, but still couldn't connect.

Any ideas??
