does anybody know where to buy a ps2 laser? I was looking and it cost like $50 and above. I have ps2 ver.7 and doesn't read the dvd's anymore and takes awhile to load the game. I was playing a backup and it took time to load and I changed to the original game and still took long time. Does somebody know how to fix this problem

Is this game you are playing cd based or dvd based? Have you tried more than just one game to see if the problem persists? If it does, you should first try and adjust your laser, http://www.megagames.com/ps2/ps2_laser_adjustment_scope.shtml . If that does not work then you can buy a new laser from this site, http://www.richspsxparts.com/v7.html

i have tried the dvd based it takes long time to load than before and cd based it reads "error reading the disk".

Oh, but first, I would try getting some of that lens cleaner stuff on a cd, and clean your lens up and see if that works?
