I want to burn dvd's of programs saved on my cable DVR. I have my cable box connected to my Ilo and then to the TV. It works great to start the saved show and hit "record" on the ilo. The problem is I have to leave the Ilo on all the time or the signal won't pass through to the TV for regular watching. I am afraid to disconnect the cables from the ilo and plug directly to the TV because my cable company says connecting to or from the cable box without turning power off and unplugging from wall first may fry my cable box. (Is that true?) If I do that, I lose the interactive guide for about 20 minutes. The box doesn't have a single plug "cable out" connection, only one composite and one componet and one S-video. Can anyone help?
PS: I"m very low tech, When I got this it took 2 days to get it all working and then everyone had green foreheads. Thank you for 1097 and 1098 firmware upgrades and easy walk through instructions! No more green!
