GT4 + hdloader patch

Hey guys,

I read on the forums that you can patch GT4 such that it would work with hdloader.

The only thing I'm wondering is whether I need a modchip that supports DVD-9 to play GT4 (patched) on HDloader? Or are all modchips able to boot GT4 once it's patched?
