I hope this is ok in this forum. I am seeking help with this ps2 I was given. Its a v7, and when I got it I knew it was not working (didnt pay for it). I plugged it up and tried it and I heard grinding noises from the inside of it. So I opened it up and cleaned it out with a pc cleaning alcohol based solvent type stuff. Cleaned the laser and the rest of it. Now when I put in a cd/dvd I hear it try to access it for a split second and it says NO DATA on the screen. Is the laser bad? or does it need adjusting? I am looking to get this fixed to sell it back to my friend for some $$$ to go towards the dms4 lite modchip i want to get.

My ps2 is fine. I have a v9 which i had purchased a neo 12 (dumbass, i didnt do my homework) modchip and it is a bitch to install and is not working. I am lucky it didnt fry my ps2. From what I have heards its a horrible chip. No wonder its going for $15 now! At any rate I know what is wrong with it. I just cant get the solder to stick to these five small points cuz there isnt any solder on the board. Just bare copper. Any who thanks in advance....
