does anyone know if its possible to just copy ps2 games to dvd -r and just play them without having to do any thing with the ps2 console

You MUST either have a modchip installed or use a swap method to boot your backup ps2 discs...why else would everybody here be bothering with modchips and swapdiscs?

we just like to play around swapping the discs and testing our soldering skills :p
