Hi. I NEED HELP.

I bought a new DVD R and am trying to copy movies. I couldn't get it to work with the NERO software so I bought ICOPYDVDs 2. Now, I can get the DVD to go onto the computer but then it asks me to insert a blank disk - I do that and then NOTHING happens.

I have downloaded Patin Couffin Engine thinking that would be the problem but it still don't work.

Can someone help me - I would be forever grateful!!

Thanks

Nero by itself can not decrypt a purchased dvd movie. You need to run a decrypting program either before you use Nero or a decrypting driver with it such as Anydvd or DVD43. You need to give us a little more information.
What movie is it.
What decrypting process are you using.
What blank media are you using.
Are you using a compression program like Shrink or Nero Recode.
Are you trying to burn the dvd with Nero or other program.

Jerry

loncke,
Welcome to the forum. The reason that program did not copy the DVD is the blank media you were probably using. Try better quality blank media

The reason you could not back it up w/ Nero is it was probably encrypted. Use DVDDecrypter(free) for ripping. Then use Shrink(Free) to compress and since you already have Nero then use that to let Shrink automatically burn the DVD. Here is a guide that might help:

Thanks. Okay - here is what I have

I bought I/O Magic 16x Internal DVD dual format double layer DVD Rewritable.

Then I bought ICOPYDVDs software because I was having problems figuring out NERO

I am using DVD43 to decrypt

I have DVD-R 8x media

THIS IS ALL FOREIGN TO ME - is there anything else you need to know. I can get the DVD movie to download onto the computer but then it asks me to insert the blank disk and nothing happens. It is a Disney Movie of my kids.

What is the brand and media ID of your blank discs? Use this free utility to determine media ID. http://dvd.identifier.cdfreaks.com/

loncke,
First off D/L DVDDecrypter from here: http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/dvd_rippers/dvd_decrypter.cfm

Guide to use:
Set Up Guide for DVD Decrypter

1. Insert Movie

2. When Windows asks if you want to play movie hit cancel

3. Open DVDDecrypter

4. At top is MODE- make sure FILE has a check mark by it

5. DVDDecrypter usually makes a Folder on the C: Drive in the name of the movie. Remember where this is.

6. At the bottom is a DVD > HD- Click this and the program will decrypt the movie

DVD Shrink D/L: http://www.dvdshrink.org/where.html

DVD Shrink guide
http://home.comcast.net/~bbmayo/dvdshrink.html

Now you should be good to go

Okay - I seem to be working now. Just one last question - WHAT TYPE OF DVD is going to be the best?

Thanks everyone

loncke,
Verbatim or Taiyo Yudens or Ritek G05's in my opinion are the better blank media
