1. With a cd-rw burner you will only be able to burn cd-based ps2 games or dvdrips.
2. A dvd-based ps2 game is normally 800mb-4.35gb in size and has a silver backing, whereas a cd-based ps2 game is normally under 650mb in size and has a purple backing to it.
3. A modchip is what makes your ps2 able to load backup ps2 games just like they were the originals, without one you would need a swap disc like 'SwapMagic' to boot your backups. If you did not get your ps2 modded, and you did not buy it pre-modded, then you do not have a modchip in it. Another way to check might be to try to load a backup ps2 game.

See, if you have a dvd-based ps2 game that you want to backup, you would need to back it up on a dvd-/+r disc, there is too much info to fit on a cd-r and also it is formatted to be on a dvd disc, not a cd.

Now, you can back up all of the older cd-based ps2 games onto cd-r's and a few new games that are cd-based. (ex. 'Lego StarWars')

I don't enforce d/l'ing games online, but if you do have a game that you d/l'ed, it is the same as if you were backing it up yourself. Being that the file is not corrupt or fake.

Not really, i lower my cd burn speed down to 8x when backing up ps2 cd games, but i doubt you'd even have to go that low.

Mainly dvd burning you'd want to burn slower, i do 1x just to be safe and never end up with a coaster.

Glad to hear it.

You cannot convert pc game to ps2, but you can play your ps1 games on the ps2. If you want to play backup copies of your ps1 games on the ps2, i 'believe' you will need BreakerPro to boot them.
