Hello,
I was wandering if it was possible to get a blank dvd-r which had a normal silver/shiny bottom, rather than a purple pne if you understand? Is it possible to get these, and if so can you please help me out?

Hi, you must be referring to commercial DVDs & CDs. Commercial discs are all pressed by machine and not burned in anyway. Blank discs we poor folk have to use all come in purple or blue bottoms. We have to burn them to simulate what the manufacturers stamp on very expensive machines. Hope this answers your question.

So basically what you're saying is the only way to get a silver.shiny bottom, is to press the dvds? How much do the machines cost?

lol "how much do they cost" lol.

Are you trying to sell a copy of something on ebay and claim it as "factory pressed"?

It costs more than you want to know.

i had some blanks with a silver underside at one time, but they were cheap-ass media and stopped working a few months after i burned them.

actually 100 grand is an underestimate, it's closer to 1/2 million for one of those commercial pressing machines. wow, would that be an endeavor or what? hehe.
