How to soft mod an xbox and upgrade HDD

I would really appreciate if someone could take the time to explain the process from start to end of taking a xbox, upgrading the HDD size, (say 200gig) then explain whether it needs partitioning, whether it should be ntfs or fat32 then how to soft mod the xbox from there. sort of an A to Z process of what to do.
