CDR to DVD HELP!!!

My PS2 is on its last legs and it can't read CDR discs anymore but reads DVDR ones fine.

I am trying to put CDR based images onto DVDR so I can run them and so for with 0/10 success.

The disc seems like it is booting and then goes to the memory card screen.

I have tried to burn them using different types of software i.e Alcohol, Discjuggler but still nothing...

Is there a string that is in the software that tells the PS2 what media its on??
