Has anyone used their backup dvd's and played them on their PS2, if so what kind of disks did you use?

I find DVD-ROMs play the best. DVD+R disks with bitset to DVD-ROM

My ps2 hated DVD+R would only play 40mins of the movie then having pausing issues then keep having issue playing then soon stop. When I took the disk out it was very very warm. We ened up just buying a cheap dvd player so it wont be fussy as the ps2 is very fussy even when he hire movies the there a 50/50 chance it stuff up like the above.

A lot of people did tell me to try dvd-r I never tried as we ened up getting the new dvd player that plays everything.

Also check this link out might be some good info for you:

Cheers :D

i am guessing you have a version 4 or below,in which case i am not suprised,if you havent, then its just down to the disc's,
ps2's can be very picky, either that or the laser is worn

i wouldnt recommened using the ps2 for playing dvd movies anyways, just save the laser life for ps2 games.
if you want to play movies on it anyways, stick to dvd-r,all ps2 versions will read them

i use ritek G05 disks... never had a problem with backups. the main issue now is that some are starting to have extra protection on. check the PS2 forums for a list. EG you cant copy GT4 at the moment
