Can anyone give me some ideas into a nuisance problem I am having with flickering on my HDTV Wonder card?

Every couple of minutes it flickers, just once, and displays the channel number and program info as if I just changed it to that channel. The flicker lasts only for 1/2 second but can be annoying over the course of a program. This problem does not occur while watching analog inputs such as cable or a composite input.

Signal strength is over 80% and drivers are up to date. Video card is an X800XL AGP using component output, drivers up to date. PC is P4 3.2gHz, 1GB RAM, 250GB SATA drive. MB is an Intel D865GBFL.

Thanks,

Frank

It is not locking on to the signal too well so it would lose the lock, and then re-acquire it as if you just switched channel, thus triggering the channel info. 2 possibilities, the HD tuner is flaky and check with your manufacturer regarding repair/replacement. The other one you cannot fix, and that is your cable company putting too much time slicing into the feed, making the tuner timeout.

Thanks for the advice, I'll have to focus on the card I think. I am receiving the signal OTA and it is strong. It's possible that the signal fades for short periods of time but not likely with a strong reception like that. Besides, it comes right back within a fraction of a second...it wouldn't do that if the signal faded.

Thanks for your time in responding, I concurr with your idea that it's possibly a flaky card or at least card related (driver).
