am planning on buying a fliptop and swap magic.so that i can backup my games. but i heard that, the dvd backups really damaging the ps2's laser. just wondering if its true

False. Boot disks DO NOT damage your ps2.
Mod-chips add voltage too the Laser.
Swap Magic discs are just like original PS2 Games,
Just be careful when installing and using your fliptop,
You could damage it that way.
I have had my swapmagic over 9 months now
and i havent had any problems.
