Nero or anything else capable of burning data to DVD's.

Doesn't work? Can you be more descriptive?

You start a data compiliation, drag the files over and press burn. Then something goes wrong?

I have video files that are not images. I keep on trying to burn and keep on getting a error saying "incompatible file".

It would be of some help if you were kind enough to tell us what format are the files you are trying to burn (avi, mpeg etc).

First thing to do is to convert your movies to MPEG-2:

Then you create a DVD with an authoring program:

Nice if you said that to begin with.

As said you need to convert, author and then lastly burn or use an all in one type app to do the lot or as much possible in one go.

Get VSO DivX to DVD.
Load the movie, convert, burn the result.
