I,m new to this so be gentle,
I can download a movie from the net in avi or mpg, but once I try to burn this using nero6, I just get the screen that says TS video/TS audio and when I try to add my movie it just says file not compliant, can anyone give me a step by step guide to burning these downloaded movies, it's driving me bloody mad!!!!!!!!

Cheers

You can use Nerovision Express to do this. Also take a look at bbmayo's guide here:
http://home.comcast.net/~bbmayo/AVItoDVD.html

He describes how to do this using these programs...
DivXtoDVD, DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter

DVD's need Video_TS files. Any DVD Authoring software will do it such as Sonic MyDVD. If you don't have any Authoring tools, there is a program called WinAvi that creates DVD Video files from AVI's and other formats (http://www.winavi.com). I don't think you will be able to create any menus. I think the free unregistered version puts a watermark on the screen though. To eliminate it you will need a serial number. I don't know how much it costs but it is probably a lot cheaper than buying authoring software. I would try the free version of the program and see what you think. However, if you have a DVD burner and plan on making any movies of your own you will need authoring software at some point.
