From what I've heard most people prefer to use Decrypter for burning DVD disc images (iso etc) but that could also be because they don't own NERO or Alcohol 120. I've been using Decrypter for my backups for a while but experienced my first DVD backup with sloppy image processing during the game and am starting to doubt Decrypter since I've never had a problem with Nero. Given a choice what do most users prefer? Which will burn with the highest quality, and prevent quick laser wear and disc unreadability?

Also, a question about ps2 dvd backup media. How do Ritek/Ridata stack up again Taiyo Yuden discs, which I've been using? What would be the order of preference when choosing from Taiyo Yuden, Ritek, and Princo. Also, is there any potential problems with Ritek ps2 backups? Thanks for any help.

dvd decrypter is my choice for ps2 backups.

As far as your media you can check here:

http://www.digitalfaq.com/media/dvdmedia.htm

The following list is in preference order. The best discs are near the top of the list..

Almost flawless burns with 95-100% reliable results:

MXLRG01, MXLRG02 = Maxell = (-R) ... be aware of unbranded fakes
MCC = Mitsubishi Chemicals = (-R)<-----------------VERBATIM MY CHOICE #1
TDKG02 = TDK Corp = (-R) ... be aware of unbranded fakes
TAIYOYUDEN or YUDEN = Taiyo Yuden = (-R)<--------------FUJIFILM (made in japan) MY CHOICE #2

Decent discs, though not perfect, about 85-95%
success rate:

RICOHJPN = Ritek or Ricoh = (+R)
SONYD04 = Sony = (-R) ... be aware of unbranded fakes
PRODISC = Prodisc Media = (+RW)
INFODISC = Infodisc Media = (+RW)
RITEKG04 = Ritek = (-R)
RITEKG03 = Ritek = (-R)
