Gericom Burning under USB

I had trouble at frst even burning CDR with my Gericom (samsung)external DVD from Aldi. I am connected via Thinkpad T23 standard USB 1.1 port running under XP with 256Mb ram. It is a 1.2Ghz PIII.

What solved the problem was dropping back the speeds of both the burn in Nero and the device speed in System Manager.

I haven't tried DVD yet but will do same.
