Can't burn Mini DVD-R but burner has feature?.

I have a sony burner that will burn mini dvd-r on my roomates computer and my spare computer. But, when I put the burner into my pc it won't burn them at all.

I've tried uninstalling all my burning apps (decrpyter, alchool, and nero) and reinstalling just one of them and it still won't burn. The laser doesn't even touch the media and when its done it spits out an empty disc.

Can this have something to do w/my motherboard bios or drivers? Any help would be great!
