Is Maxell DVD media quality good for burning dvd movies???

It Depends on the burner I know they work well with sony and lite-on.I would suggest going to the manufactor website of your burner and go with what they have (tested) recommend.

For the most part yes. Of course there are always exceptions. IMO they rank right up there with TY and verbatums made by MCC. Here are some media codes.

Made in japan: MXL-RG03
Made in taiwan: Ritek-G05

Staple's have them on sale,4x and 8x.All of them seem to be made in taiwan. Still very good.

have to agree again with saugmon, it was actually this nice guy that lead me to my maxell purchases. :)

i have the ones made in japan and they are great, mine are actually the dvd-r and dvd+r 8x w/ apple green tops~ so to answer your question from experience too, yes, they are good quality.

they work fine at least w/ my burners i have listed in my sig., very good media indeed. :)

i have maxell 8x dvd-r goldtops. best media yet, with the exception of ty that is.

Yes they are on sale here at staples but when I go to buy them I should look on the package and see what manufactor made them and what country to see how good the quality is???

Yep,the japanese maxell's are made by hitachi and taiyo yuden.Those maxell-002 are hitachi's. I believe the mxl-rg02 and mxl-rg03 are also hitachi,but I could be mistaken.

Ricohjpn and ritek g04 are the taiwanese ones.

All of these have proven worthy in my benq's,but I'd try to get the japanese ones just to be on the safe side.

Office depot has the 25 packs on sale again for $8.99 starting today 5-1-05.......

Best buy has the TDK's on sale,beware of the plus format,they do use CMC Mags on some of the +4x and +8x.
