My DVD draw will not open.!!

I bought my DVD in the UK last year, but I now live in South Africa and I can't find anyone to fix my box.

It was playing a CD, reached halfway through the track and stopped dead. I cannot open the DVD tray and non of the features with the exception of the volume control will work.

Any help gratefully received.
