Anyone else have trouble with House of Flying Daggers? I'm using AnyDVD and DVDShrink 3.2. This is the second disc I've tried and I get a read error in the same place. The discs were both brand new and do not appear to be damaged at all. I'm able to watch the original but unable to make a copy. Anyone else find this? Anyone get around it?

There are numerous threads in the forum on how to rip HOFD. Here is one:

Many have used AnyDVD and Shrink.
I used the latest version of DVD Decrypter to rip it.

Thanks. I just posted to that forum. I'm using AnyDVD and Shrink and it won't work. Can't even get through the initial scan. It gets past the menus and as soon as it gets the movie part it locks up. Usually get a cycle redundancy error.

You can try cleaning your disk, or take it back and get another original.

I've had two brand new and totally clean discs. Perhaps I need a newer AnyDVD? I'm running 3.8.1.3

I would say you should upgrade AnyDVD is now Ver 4.6.3.1. Have you tried DVD Decrypter to rip, it works well with this disk. Check for guides in my sig.

As I'm sure you know, AnyDVD is now Ver.5.1.1.1 and I have had absolutely no problems.

I know had a brain fart that day, it must be age. Wouldn't have mattered XtraCrisp was still a little behind. I got all my updates and it seems to be working okay.

Thanks for the help fellas. I had to make some room on my drive and updated my softs. I just ripped it using DVD Decrypter and then used Shrink. I just updated my AnyDVD. Thanks again.

ok mine is STILL not working!
I ripped it with the latest DVD Decrypter, and then I put it on the dvd and it doesnt play. Doesnt work. I still have the iso file in my hdd. Any ideas? I have the latest AnyDVD as well, and it didnt work with clone dvd either.

How do I use shrink? I downloaded it and it wont take the iso file I made with decrypter. Im a noob, can anyone help me??

You've got to use Decrypter in file mode. Then it will rip the DVD structure and all the files to your HD. Then you can easily open those files with Shrink.

I just ripped it with DVD Decrypter and then DVD Shrink then burned it with Nero and it works fine

What about the subtitles did rip the subtitles as well or do you have to use another program
