i have an xvid file that i want to convert to mpeg2 so i can burn it in dvd. i already tried several times to convert it but to no avail!

i have xvid 1.0.3.21122004 installed in my computer.

1. i tried using nero vision express 2 to convert it. however, the output had a thin green horizontal line on the lower part of the screen/frame all throughout the converted mpeg file.

2. so, i removed the xvid codec and tried it again. it converted, alright, but the output was jittery, jumpy, has green frames in between. the movie file looked like it was struggling to die.

3. so, i tried tmpgenc express version 2. without the xvid codec, it won't accept the file so i re-installed it. the program did accept the file, but couldn't read the audio. but i decided to try and encode it anyway. it had the same outcome as the No. 2 scenerio -- it looked like it was about to have a stroke.

4. so, i tried cce sp. same output as no. 2 and 3.

the movie, as far as i know, is crisp, clear and runs fine on my windows media player. i don't think it's ruined because, well, it runs smoothly.

i hope someone can help me find another way to encode it. or maybe someone can tell me what i've been doing wrong.
