swap magic help!!

ok. I have swap magic three point three for the slim ps2 (v12.) I installed the tools a,b, and c into their correct spots. Then, I inserted the swap magic disc and I keep getting this meesage: "Please insert a Playstation or Playstation 2 format disc" as the background changes its color to red. The disc I want to play, (DDR 8th mix) does the same thing. What is the problem? I am totally clueless! I even took tool B out and put a piece of straw behind that silver thing. The silver thing now stays at the right. Tool C is in fine, there's even tape over the sensor under it. I think tool A is fine, I see no problems with it. The only problem is getting the swap magic disc to boot up. Maybe it's the laser? I don't know. Could someone please help me?
