Hello Folks,
I'm having problems running ps1 backups on my modded (magic v plus)
v7 ps2. I've burned the ps1 isos using alcohol 120, cloneCD, nero, etc with average success (sometimes coasters other times successful) at 1X and 2X speeds. I use TDK 700MB cd-r. Problem: All I Get When I Run The Ps1 Game is the PS logo and then it (the logo) hangs/remains on screen. I have no problems with ps2 backups (dvdr or cdr) or dvd movies.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.....

have you tried using any of these methods to boot your ps1 backups

1. Put the disc in the tray, and make sure the tray is closed. Power up from standby by holding the reset button until the blue eject light comes on, then release the reset button and the disk will boot.

2.Put the PS2 to Standby mode. ( Red Light ) Press and hold Reset for at least 2 seconds then press Eject to open the disc tray. Insert the PS1 game or DVD movie into the disc tray and press Eject to close the tray. You can also tap Reset and the PS2 will remain in PS1 mode and boot the game.

3. Make sure the disc is in the tray and the tray is closed. Power up from STANDBY with the RESET button held down until 1/2 second after the blue EJECT light comes on; then release RESET and the disc will boot.

Thanks for the response devilhunt.

I had previously tried tried all the 'boot' methods you listed. But all I get is the hanging PS logo screen.....
